ABOUT THE BIBLE

The Bible is God’s word to all men written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth. Its inspiration by God guarantees that it is truth without any mixture of error.

2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20, 21; Psalms 119:105,160; Psalms 138:2

ABOUT GOD

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He exists eternally in three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.

Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; John 4:24; John 6:27; John 5:20; Acts 5:3, 5

ABOUT JESUS CHRIST

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. He had a Virgin birth, lived a sinless human life, offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross and shedding his blood. He arose bodily from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory. He will return again to earth to reign as King of King and Lord of Lords.

Matthew 1:22, 23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14, 15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Philippians 2:5-11; Isaiah 7:14; Romans 4:25 ; Revelation 19:11-16, 22:20

ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT

He is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. At salvation, the Holy Spirit baptizes all believers into the Body of Christ and begins living within them. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Spirit-filled life is allowing Him to control our lives moment by moment.

2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16,17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13, 5:17-18; Galatians 5:25

ABOUT MAN

God created man in His own image as the supreme object of God’s creation. Adam’s disobedience to God resulted in a sin nature, which has passed along to all men. This sin nature separates man from God.

Genesis 1:27, 2:17, Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a, 59:1, 2; Romans 3:23 ; Titus 3:5; Romans 3:20

ABOUT SALVATION

Salvation is a gift from God to man. Man can’t earn or deserve this gift. Man can only receive this gift. The cost is free to any man. The cost to Jesus Christ was His life so that He might freely offer salvation. When a man puts faith into Jesus and what Jesus did for him on the cross, the gift of salvation is received. Eternal life begins at that moment.

Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8,9; John 14:6, 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1

ABOUT ETERNAL SECURITY

Because God gives man eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives this security.

John 10:29; 2 Tim 1:12; Hebrews 7:25; 10:10, 14; 1 Peter 1:3-5

ABOUT THE CHURCH

All who put their faith in Jesus Christ are immediately placed by the Holy Spirit into the one united spiritual Body, the church, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The formation of the church began on the Day of Pentecost and will be completed at the second coming of Christ for His own at the rapture. Local churches exist as manifestations of the one true church. Each local church is autonomous in nature and exists to glorify God by building up its members in the faith, by instruction of the word, by fellowship, by keeping the ordinances of baptism and communion, and by advancing the body of Christ worldwide.

Acts 1:8; 2:41,42; Matthew 28:18-20; Ephesians 5:23-25, 4:11-16; Colossians 1:18

ABOUT RESURRECTIONS

Man was created to exist forever. Men, who die without Christ, spend eternity in the real place called the Hell. Men, who die with salvation in Christ, spend eternity in the real place called Heaven. The Bible does not speak of chances after death to receive Christ.

John 3:16; 1 John 2:25, 5:11-13; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15; Matthew 25:31-46
